Sawan Shivratri 2022 Shubh Muhurt, Importance: The holy month of Sawan (Sawan 2022), dedicated to Lord Shiva, has started from July 14. Sawan Shivratri (Sawan Shivratri 2022) is celebrated on the Chaturdashi date of the Krishna Paksha of every Sawan month. Lord Shiva is duly worshiped by keeping a fast on this day. Lord Shiva becomes very pleased with this and removes all the sorrows and pains of the devotees. Bless their every wish to be fulfilled.

Sawan Shivratri 2022 Date

According to the Hindu calendar, the Chaturthi date of the month of Sawan will start from 6:46 pm on 26th July. This date will end on July 27 at 9.11 pm. Therefore, Shivratri fast of Sawan month will be kept on 26th July. According to the Panchang, the Paran Muhurta of Shivratri fast will be from 8.41 am to 3.52 pm on July 27.

Sawan Shivaratri Vrat Vidhi

One day before Shivaratri Vratam, most likely on Trayodashi, devotees should eat only one time. On Shivaratri day, after finishing morning rituals devotees should take Sankalp to observe full day fast on Shivaratri and to take food on next day. During Sankalp devotees pledge for self-determination throughout the fasting period and seek blessing of Lord Shiva to finish the fast without any interference.

On Shivaratri day devotees should take second bath in the evening before doing Shiva Puja or visiting temple. Shiva Puja should be done during night and devotees should break the fast next day after taking bath. Devotees should break the fast between sunrise and before the end of Chaturdashi Tithi to get maximum benefit of the Vrat. According to one contradictory opinion devotees should break the fast only when Chaturdashi Tithi gets over. But it is believed that both Shiva Puja and Paryana i.e. breaking the fast should be done within Chaturdashi Tithi.
