Uttarakhand to Build E-vehicle Charging Stations on Chardham Yatra Routes

Chardham Yatra routes will have Electronic charging stations in order to faciliate charging for electric vehicles Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Heavy Industries Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey and discussed about
the need of electronic charging stations. The Union Minister said that for this a proposal should be made and sent by the State Government. Apart from this, requested to hand over the HMT industry in Ranibagh of Nainital district to the state government. The government is ready to buy this industry.
Chief Minister Dhami urged Union Minister Pandey to build an electronic charging station on the Chardham Yatra route from New Delhi to Uttarakhand . so the passengers going to Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham by electric vehicles will get the facility of charging. This will give a boost to electric vehicles. The Union Minister asked the Chief Minister to send a proposal for the charging station. The CM said that soon the state government will mark the place and make a proposal and send it to the central government.
The Chief Minister urged the officers of the ministry to hand over the HMT industry located at Ranibagh in Nainital district to the state government. The CM said that the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs had recommended closure of HMT industry due to continuous loss. The HMT industry is proposed to be transferred to the State Government on as is where is basis. The value of movable and immovable property of HMT fixed by the State Government was assessed by NBCC. The Government has sent its consent to the Ministry of Heavy Industries for purchase of HMT at this price. After the HMT industry is transferred to the government, new industries will be set up here. Which will generate employment opportunities.
