About Tehri Acro Festival 2023
The Tehri Acro Festival 2023, India’s first International Aerial Acrobatic Show, will be held in Tehri from 24th November 2023 to 28th November 2023. The event will witness participation and performance by more than 35 International Pilots and 150 Indian Pilots. The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) has laid the roadmap to develop Tehri as the paragliding capital of the world. This event shall mark the beginning of paragliding activities at Tehri, including leisure as well as training. The altitude of Theri Paragliding take off is around 1400 meters and the box over the water is over 1000 meters which makes it as one of the top sites in the Paragliding World. The Festival will comprise of Acro Flying, Syncro Flying, Wing Suit Flying, D-Bagging, Etc. Everyone is invited to witness this first of kind unique event in India.

The Tehri Acro Festival 2023 will feature a myriad of aerial acrobatic events that will leave you breathless. Additionally, the festival will host three intense competitions, marking the beginning of paragliding in Tehri. These competitions encompass both leisurely flights and rigorous training exercises, showcasing the diverse aspects of this thrilling sport.
UTDB’s Vision: Fostering Paragliding Excellence
The UTDB’s mission is not just limited to hosting a spectacular event. It aims to nurture and promote the sport of paragliding in India. Recognizing the growing popularity of paragliding in regions like Bhimtal, the UTDB has taken proactive steps to equip locals with essential skills. Through initiatives like the P2, P3, and SIV courses, the UTDB is providing comprehensive training free of cost. Already, a batch of 15 enthusiastic students has completed their training, with another batch currently undergoing rigorous sessions in Tehri. The UTDB plans to train 100 more pilots by the end of this year, thereby ensuring a brighter future for paragliding enthusiasts in the region.
