After almost a gap of 2 years due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Mussoorie Winterline Carnival 2022 is all set to welcome tourists this year at the end of December. It is expected to include shows by artists, nature walks, heritage walks along with a traditional food festival. The announcement was recently made from the office of District Magistrate in Mussoorie to bring back the tourism attracting festival.
The organizers are planning a host of events including heritage walks, star-gazing, nature walks,
performances by various artists includingfolk artists. The main motive of the program is to speak to all
generations of people visiting the festival. The Carnival will be around for four to five days in the last
week of December and the activities are going to happen all over the town.
About the Carnival
It is a time when all of the streets of the city are going to be colored in the beautiful essence of
Uttrakhand. The tourists wait for the event all over the year to capture beautiful photographs in the
captivating beauty of Mussoorie. The Queen Of Hills is one such place where the winterline would be
visible in the coming days and tourists from all over the country come to capture that mesmerizing
scenery. During that time, in the evenings, a straight red line over the horizon is being seen, this unique
phenomenon is known as the winterline. Commemorating this beautiful scenery, the Winterline Carnival
is planned and organized around the New Year’s Eve where a lot of fun and games take place including
music, arts and folk events.
Mussorie Winterline Carnival 2022 Date
Although the official date has not been announced yet but it has been revealed by the officials that it will
be happening in the last week of December. The anticipated date of the Carnival are from 25th Dec till
29th Dec/30th Dec.
Mussorie Winterline Carnival Venue
The specific venues are not declared yet by the officials but the Carnival will be held at the stretch of
Mall Road most probably. Also, the whole of town will be engulfed in the festivities of the Winterline
Carnival.
Attractions in Mussorie Winterline Carnival
Adventure sports like paragliding and bungee jumping keep the carnival in high spirits. Cycling and
skating are an added bonus. Visitors can shop at stalls that sell clothes, food, handicraft, footwear and
leather items as well as sing and dance to traditional Garhwali, rock and instrumental music. Also,
puppet shows and camel rides will be arranged for children to enjoy. There would also be a food festival
with all the mouth-watering cuisines and delicacies. There will also be camp-fires lit in various locations
across the town.
