IG Ajay Rautela has reached Haridwar on Tuesday evening to see the arrangements on Ganga Dussehra and Nirjana Ekadashi. They will camp here at night and keep an eye on the arrangements. Special instructions have been given to policemen in Bahadurabad, BHEL, Bhagat Singh Chowk and Kankhal areas.
CO City Abhay Singh said that heavy vehicles would be allowed to ply on the highway only from eleven o’clock in the night to four in the morning, that too in a situation when the pressure would be less. This situation will remain till the weekend.
- Light vehicles coming from Delhi-Meerut-Muzaffarnagar to Haridwar will not come directly due to traffic pressure and will reach Haridwar from Muzaffarnagar via Phaloda, Khanpur, Laksar, Ferupur.
In such a situation, there will be no traffic jam in Roorkee. - Light vehicles coming from Badrinath will leave for Najibabad, Meerapur to Muzaffarnagar, Delhi via Laxmanjhula, Rishikesh barrage, Chila Marg via Kali Mata Mandir, Gaurishankar parking at 4.2
crossing Garud Chatti bridge. - Light vehicles going from Dehradun Rishikesh to Delhi will leave via Chandi Chowki via Doiwala, Nepali Farm, IDPL Barrage, Chila Marg.
- Light vehicles coming from Bijnor side will be parked in Gaurishankar parking and Neeldhara parking via canal track from 4.2 kms in case of jam. Their return will be through Hanuman Mandir, Chila Marg,
in front of Chandighat Chowki. This will reduce the traffic pressure on Chandi Chowk and Rodibelwala. - Places have been marked to stop heavy vehicles. This will not create a traffic jam in the city area. Heavy vehicles coming from Delhi, Bijholi Mangalore bypass, small and big loader vehicles coming from Roorkee side, Bahadarabad bypass, heavy vehicles coming from Laksar side will be parked near Ferupur outpost/Jagjitpur outpost. Heavy vehicles coming from Dehradun, Laltappad and Rishikesh will be stopped near Satyanarayan temple.
- Cargo vehicles coming from Dehradun-Rishikesh will be parked in Saptarishi/Motichoor parking lot. Traffic coming from Haryana-Saharanpur will be stopped at Bhagwanpur VD Inter College ground. Small/big cargo vehicles coming from Najibabad-Bijnor-Dhampur will be parked in Kangri Parking Shyampur.
