General information on eVisa India
An electronic visa system has been introduced to ease travel restrictions for people from countries included by this program. Travelers who hold a valid passport only need to submit an application and pay electronically. There is no need for making the appointment with the embassy or consulate; the entire visa process can be completed online.
An eVisa authorizes travel for tourist, business or medical purposes. Regardless of the chosen once issued it remains valid for 1 year from the date of obtaining the document. A tourist eVisa allows you to enter India multiple times and stay up to 90 days each time. Business eVisa allows you to stay in India for a maximum of 180 days. Applying for a visa for medical purposes, you would be applying for a document which will allow you to stay in India for a maximum period of 60 days, with the opportunity to enter the country three times.
To obtain an eVisa, you have to apply online by filling out an online form and attaching the required documents (click here to learn which documents you should prepare).
It usually takes up to 3 days to process the application, and the approved eVisa will be sent to the email provided in the application. After receiving the document, print it and take it with you to the airport along with your passport. Upon arrival in India, it is necessary to show a physical version of the approved eVisa, which means it has to be printed out. Apart from the electronic visa, a valid passport will be required. It will be stamped with the date of entry and the date you are obliged to leave India.
We inform you that even if you do not have an upcoming departure date, you can apply for an eVisa now. Our specialists will process it right away so you will receive your visa and will be able to travel to your destination with a valid document.
