There is good news for all the adventure junkies in and outside Uttarakhand, soon paragliding will be introduced at Satpuli in Pauri. Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council (UTDB) along with some experts assessed Nayar Valley in Bilkhet of Satpuli and even paragliding was practiced to get a better assessment of the area. The take-off point was Dhadukhal which lies in the upper reaches of Bilkhet and landing was done on the banks of the Nayaar river.
Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board is constantly promoting adventure tourism in Uttarakhand. In the line with this, efforts are being made to start paragliding in Nayar Valley. Colonel Ashwini Pundir, Additional Chief Executive Officer (Adventure Tourism), UTDB said that Nayar Valley is an apt place for paragliding and even experts have agreed on this. The two-day test program was organised and pilots did paragliding with necessary safety arrangements.
Tourism Minister of the state Satpal Maharaj said that Uttarakhand has immense potential to lure adventure lovers through adventure tourism. Attempts are being made to transform Nayar Valley as a hub of adventure tourism which will also increase employment opportunities for the locals.
