The 900 meter long corridor in Ujjain ‘Mahakal Lok’ is inaugurated on 11th October 2022 one of the largest corridors in India. ‘Mahakal Lok’ corridor is spread around the old Rudra Sagar lake Ujjain. The Rudra Sagar Lake has been revived as part of the project to redevelop the area around the world famous Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. Mahakaleshwar Temple of Ujjain is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, which is located in Ujjain Madhya Pradesh.

Nandi and Pinaki Gate the 2 majestic and beautiful gates have been built in Mahakal Lok . These gates lead directly to the entrance of the temple. Mahakal Lok corridor will rest on 108 beautiful pillars. The best craftsmen of Rajasthan, Odisha and Gujarat have built this corridor with their art. when you passing through the corridor you will be amazed to see beautiful piece of art work.

Mahakal temple located in Ujjain is more crowded during the days of Sawan, Darshan of Lord Mahakal on Monday of Sawan is considered auspicious. In the month of Sawan, there is more crowd than normal days, no booking is required to visit Mahakal Lok. But if you want to go to Bhasma Aarti, then you have to book first for that.

How to Book Bhasma Aarti at Mahakal Temple

Bhasmarti booking allowed between 8 AM to 9 PM you can check for a slot and book the Bhasmarti in Mahakal Lok Ujjain from the official website of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple. apart from this there is also offline booking of Bhasma Aarti which is done from the ticket counter located in the temple but here the line is very long and only limited people get permission to go inside. Do carry your ID proof with you.

Bhasma aarti in Mahakaleshwar Temple is done from 4 am to 5 am but devotees have to queue up from 1 pm onwards. Carry a print out of the permission received online or offline in Bhasma Aarti with you. Jalabhishek is performed on Shivling before Bhasma Aarti, after which everyone is taken to a big hall from where Bhasma Aarti is visible. There is no dress code for Bhasma Aarti, but there is a special dress code for those who want to perform Jalabhishek, which should be kept in mind. Women can only go in sari and men have only dhoti on their body. Dhoti is also available on rent outside the temple.
